A new vaccination centre run by three local surgeries is set to open later this month.

From this week, 40–49-year-olds registered with Western Vale Family Practice, Cowbridge & Vale Medical Practice, and Llantwit Major Coast Vale Practice will receive a letter inviting them to their first vaccine appointment in Llantwit Major.

The Western Vale Local Vaccination Centre will be located at the former Llantwit Major Youth Centre, on Station Road.

It will strictly focus on the 18-49 cohort and will invite people in 10-year age groups.

Patients registered with Western Vale Family Practice will be invited to attend as follows:

40-49 age group:
First vaccine - Saturday 24 April/Second vaccine – Saturday 10 July

30-39 age group:
First vaccine - Saturday 22 May/Second vaccine - Saturday 7 August

18-29 age group:
First vaccine - Saturday 19 June/Second vaccine – Saturday 4 September

“Please do not contact us in the meantime, as all the information you need will be in the letter and on our website https://cowbridgedoctors.com/covid-19-information” says the GP surgery.

“If you are not a patient with Western Vale Family Practice, then your Practice will also communicate your appointment date with you very shortly, so please be patient.

“We are very grateful to Llantwit Major and Coastal Vale Practice for making this local vaccination centre happen for Western Vale residents.”

Patients age 50+ will receive their second vaccination in the same location as their first.
