The figures for the wider Vale of Glamorgan area showed that only four new cases were recorded yesterday from a cumulative total of 522.
The latest total deaths recorded by the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is 168.
Across the country, there have now been 27,510 coronavirus-related deaths in all settings, not just in hospitals.
Dr Robin Howe, Incident Director for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: "We seem to have passed the peak and flattened the curve of new cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Wales which appears to be an indication of the effectiveness of lockdown measures.
''We are currently working with Welsh Government to determine the best approach for when the lockdown is eventually eased.
"In the meantime, social distancing rules remain in effect. Public Health Wales fully supports the Welsh Government's revised stay-at-home regulations. The message has not changed, anyone can get coronavirus, anyone can spread it. Stay home, protect the NHS, and save lives.''
