Cowbridge Rotary Club is appealing for donations of unwanted laptops to help school pupils with their learning.

The club recently presented a laptop to Y Bont Faen Primary School for a pupil who did not have computer facilities at home.

Donated by a Cowbridge resident, the unwanted laptop was fitted with a new hard disc and converted to a Chromebook compatible with the school's computer system, funded by the local Rotary Club.

"Although there is a chance that the teaching of children at home will shortly be coming to an end, the need to assist many young people in the area is still at the forefront of our thoughts," say the club.

"This project, which has seen over 200 machines, that have been donated and then converted across Southern Wales by a number of clubs, will assist children not only in these times but then gives a resource to pupils for years to come.

"If you have a Windows 7 or later laptop that you no longer the club would love to hear from you by contacting us at: [email protected]."
