The town's litter picking group Love Cowbridge Hate Litter met yesterday to clear waste.

Councillors John Andrew and Andrew Pritchard joined the volunteer group to clear 10 bags of litter, as well as a child's car seat, microwave and television that had been fly-tipped.

The rubbish has been placed in Town Hall Square for the Vale Council to collect this morning. It will be hand-sorted and recycled by the Vale Council recycling department.

"This is a fantastic hard-working, friendly group which is open to anyone who would like to help out," said Cllr Pritchard.

The group meets on the first Sunday of every month at 9:55am at the Town Hall Car Park.
