The Co-op in Cowbridge announced that they will be offering all of the staff new roles after the announcement of the shop closure on the high street.

Alun Cairns, the MP for the Vale of Glamorgan, announced this in a statement today.

He said: ''The Co-op has unfortunately taken the decision to close their store in Cowbridge.

''I have met with the Area Manager and Store Manager to discuss this decision and the process they are following for the closure.

I am glad to confirm all staff members were offered new roles in Co-op and a new business will soon be moving into the premises.

''After five years of operating it is a shame to see this great shop close, but I look forward to working with the new business - soon to be announced.''

The Co-op in Cowbridge will close on March 7th 2020.
