The Vale of Glamorgan Council's Art Central Gallery will host a new exhibition showcasing the works created in the Summer of Fun activities program.

The Summer of Fun activities program ran throughout the summer holiday, providing a range of free leisure, sporting and cultural activities for children and young people.

The scheme was supported by the Welsh Government as part of an initiative to reintegrate young people into social and activity settings.

Throughout September, Art Central Gallery will showcase works that were created as part of the activities, as well as works submitted independently by young people across the Vale.

The exhibition will feature a variety of media, including stage make-up, concertina books and graffiti art.

Cabinet Member for Leisure, Arts and Culture, Cllr Kathryn McCaffer, said: "This summer has been jam-packed full of activities for young people. It's been an opportunity for them to engage and enjoy whilst emerging from a very challenging time.

"The program provided all sorts of opportunities for young people to connect with each other and immerse themselves in learning new skills.

"We're fortunate now to have this unique experience documented in this exhibition."

The Summer of Fun exhibition will run from Saturday, 11 September until Saturday 2 October. It is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
