Cowbridge COVID update

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has provided the county's latest COVID-19 statistics, including the number of self-isolating pupils and their schools. At Ysgol Iolo Morganwg, 50 students are currently self-isolating.

In the seven days leading up to 9 October, there were 72 active cases in the Vale. This means that per 100,000 people, 53.9 received positive tests.

1332 tests were conducted in that timeframe, meaning per 100,000 people 997.1 were tested. 5.4% of tests were positive.

Four schools in the Vale are currently isolating students due to COVID. Aside from Cowbridge's Ysgol Iolo Morganwg, these include Llantwit Major School (224 pupils self-isolating), Penarth's St Cyres (210) and St Richard Gwyn near Dinas Powys (326).
