From Saturday 7 August Cowbridge, and the rest of Wales, entered the new Alert Level Zero.

This saw virtually all remaining Coronavirus restrictions relaxed, including face coverings not being a legal requirement in hospitality settings where food and drink is served.

But most are serving customers however they feel most comfortable.

Both The Yard and Harry's Cowbridge said "feel free to wear a mask if you wish", as they welcomed customers back after the relaxing.

Rocket & Rye asked that visitors respect their staff's choices.

"Our staff will continue to wear masks if they feel comfortable doing so and customers are welcome to wear a mask if they choose," said the team at Rocket & Rye.

"Please do not judge our staff on the decision they make with regards to masks, our wonderful team have been nothing short of amazing through all of this.

"We will be keeping our tables as they are for now, socially distanced to ensure you all feel comfortable dining safely, hand sanitiser will still be available in the restaurant, track & trace will still apply as per government guidelines, and we will be accepting bookings larger than a six going forward.

"Navigating this has been an absolute nightmare to say the least, this is some welcomed normality, but we certainly won't be letting hygiene standards slip. Nothing changes in that respect."

The Bush Inn, St Hilary, spoke of how "the onus of responsibility" has been put on hospitality businesses following the easing of restrictions.

"It is good news that restrictions are now being eased, however the Welsh Government has very much put the onus of responsibility onto hospitality businesses. As such we will continue to operate according to our updated Covid-19 risk assessment and provide a safe and comfortable environment within which to socialise with your friends and family," they said.

"We have a duty of care to everyone that enters the Bush Inn, whether they are team members, guests or suppliers. In particular, we still have a few team members who are not fully vaccinated, and we want to ensure protection for them before we ease all mitigations.

"Therefore, our risk assessed mitigations will be as follows over the coming weeks to ensure we can remain operational over the summer period."

Table service will continue indoors and outdoors at The Bush Inn, and Test, Trace, Protect will be mandatory. The team are also asking that patrons continue to wear a mask indoors while they are shown to their table or visiting the toilet.

"We will continue to review our position over the next couple of weeks, but in the meantime, we would like to thank you for your patience, understanding and support."
