The fountain at Cowbridge Physic Garden was targeted by vandals over the weekend who squirted washing up liquid in the water.

It is not clear on what day on the weekend the incident happened and how much damage was caused.

A Facebook post this morning (May 23) on the Cowbridge Physic Garden page said: "To the fools who tipped three bottles of Fairy liquid into the Cowbridge Physic Garden fountain sometime over the weekend…Not funny.

"All you did was create four hours' work for two of our volunteers. They had to drain the fountain, empty it of coins and stones, scrub it, rinse it and refill it.

"Exceptional dedication from them but I am sure they had better things to do on their Sunday. You just made a mess and wasted resources. *Rant over*."

Cowbridge Nub News has contacted the admin for the Facebook page for more information.

One Facebook user commented: "A big thank you to all the volunteers of our lovely Physic Garden.

It's so annoying and worrying that just common decency and respect for other people, their possessions and that of the community that they live in has just dropped to such a low level!

"If those individuals who carried out this vandalism are from Cowbridge then shame on you…you don't deserve to live in such a lovely town; and if they are from outside the area, please never return!!

"Cowbridge Physic Garden absolutely deserve to have a rant!!"
