COWBRIDGE Poppy Appeal organiser David Howell has thanked everyone who donated to the cause this year, after contributions totalled over £8000.
This year, face-to-face collections were temporarily suspended during the firebreak lockdown.
A small, socially-distanced Remembrance Sunday event took place outside the town hall on 8 November.
"The Poppy Appeal is over and the dust has settled but there is one extremely important job to be done. Say a very big "Thank You" to all who took part," said Mr Howell.
"The residents of Cowbridge, Llanblethian, and the outlying villages who gave tremendous and very generous support, in many different ways, for this year`s appeal.
"The retailers and businesses who took poppy boxes, and collected a great deal in donations for the appeal.
"The schools, who excelled themselves in this year`s collection.
"The volunteers, who manned the Poppy Appeal stand outside the Town Hall, for their time, effort and hard work.
"A very big "Thank You" to each and every one of you from the Poppy Appeal and me personally; your support is greatly appreciated.
"You may like to be aware that The Cowbridge Poppy Appeal street collection, plus donations via schools, shops, businesses, etc raised a total of over £6,300 this year.
"Other donations have raised the total to over £8,000 and there is still money to come in.
"Thank you all once again. I trust we can count on your support for next year when hopefully life will be 'back to normal'," he said.
