The Horse & Groom pub on Cowbridge High Street will be hosting its monthly open mic night this Sunday (March 6).

In partnership with SparkPlug Open Mics, the evening will see acts from songwriters to guitarists, pianists, rappers and spoken word artists showcase their talents to a busy crowd.

Jayne Wilkinson, The Horse & Groom's company director, told Nub News: "We host open mic the first Sunday night of every month and it's not karaoke whatsoever!

"The people that perform are professional singers, musicians, poets. Generally, most people will play guitars and each act gets a 15-minute slot. It's a really fantastic evening and it's a great atmosphere."

Jayne has been at The Horse & Groom for 30 years this September and hosts regular events for the community, such as bands and solo singers.

On the first Thursday of every month, a dance teacher hosts 'Jive' and has been a regular event at The Horse & Groom for ten years.

Nataly Churchill, a local psychic medium, will also be hosting an event at the pub on Tuesday, March 8 and another date is already booked for September this year.

The open mic night will start at 19:00.
