The next Cowbridge U3A History Group Meeting will be held in the Lesser Hall, Cowbridge at 10am on Thursday, 18 July. 

Speaker will be Dr Isabella Parker, Education and Engagement Officer at Wales Gene Park, Cardiff University. 

Isabella's background is in biomedical sciences and cancer biology research, completing a BSc in Biomedical Sciences (Anatomy) and an MRes in Biosciences, both at Cardiff University.

Her talk will be on "DNA Testing and Ancestry". 

There has been an upsurge in interest in tracing our ancestors,with the science of DNA and genetics opening up new ways of tracing our forefathers. 

Dr Parker will explain how DNA testing works and highlight some of the pitfalls when following the DNA trail!

Visitors are welcome on payment of a small charge, £2.
