The mayor of Cowbridge held a special coffee morning on Saturday, April 2 to celebrate the work of Cowbridge in Bloom volunteers after 25 years of service.

Cllr Siân Vaughan invited the Cowbridge in Bloom volunteers to join her along with the chair of the Town Hall Committee and deputy chair of the Leisure and Amenities Committee for tea, coffee, and cake to show the appreciation of the Town Council for the group's work.

Securing grant funding and donations became increasingly difficult and members of the group could no longer cover the costs.

The watering also became too much for the volunteers even with the excellent help they received from the Cowbridge Fire Service.

Cowbridge (Ancient Borough) with Llanblethian Town Council has agreed to take over from the Cowbridge in Bloom group.

The baskets along the High Street will be filled with summer flowers as usual and will be watered by council staff with ongoing help from the Fire Service.

If anyone would like to stay involved or help with the watering, please contact the Town Clerk on 01446 773385 or email [email protected].
