Penarth man dies in motorcycle collision near Cowbridge

A man from Penarth died at the scene of a road traffic collision involving a single motorcycle on the A48 near Cowbridge yesterday evening, South Wales Police has confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the incident around 7.30pm on Wednesday 29 September.

The motorcyclist, a 41 year-old man from the Penarth area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions between the A4222 and the B4268 until approximately 3.30am.

Wales Air Ambulance attended the incident.

"Those affected are thanked for their understanding," said a spokesperson for SWP.

"Anybody who may have witnessed, or captured on dashcam, the incident, or who may have seen the motorcycle being ridden moments before, is urged to contact 101 and give reference *343258."
