Upgrades to the play equipment at Llanblethian Playing Fields have been completed.

Cowbridge with Llanblethian Town Council secured a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery to upgrade the equipment at the play park.

This amount, was combined with £5,000 of the council's own money, and a further £3,000 of capital funding from Play Wales, making the total budget for the park project £18,000.

The slide at the back of the field is currently cordoned off with plastic fencing for safety reasons. It is part of the original equipment and not due to be replaced.

The town council is awaiting a quote to replace the steps leading up to the slide, which have been identified as unsafe, the town clerk reported.
