Police appeal for witnesses following serious road traffic collision involving cyclist near Cowbridge

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses of a serious road traffic collision that occured on the A48 between St Hilary and Bovilston on Friday 6 August.

The incident took place at around 7:20pm and involved a black Nissan Juke vehicle and a bicycle. The 53-year-old rider of the bicycle was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Following the collision, the road was closed for approximately six hours to allow for investigation work to be carried out.

The police would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding during this time.

South Wales Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the event, or may even have dashcam footage of it, to come forward and contact the Roads Policing unit at Lakeside Police station on 101 quoting occurrence 2100276585.
