Vulnerable people who need the help of Foodbanks have been boosted by the efforts of Cowbridge Rotary Club.

The club recently made a significant donation to The Vale Foodbank, with nearly a quarter of a tonne of food stuffs and personal hygiene products presented. The valuie of the gift is more than £1,000.

This would not have been possible without the support and help of FiLCO Stores in Llantwit Major and its General Manager Nathan Walmsley to bring this all together.

Cowbridge President Carol Hallewell stated: "Rotary being an International Organisation bring Humanitarian Relief to all parts of the world, this project is one in which the club have been succesful in bringing International assistance to local needs, where we as a club are thankful for its support.

"The club has now facilitated three large donations to the food banks and will be looking to make further in the future.

"The club also would like to thank Nathan for his support on this project".

Cowbridge Rotary are also now planning its events through the spring and summer months including the return of its monthly boot sales in Cowbridge Town Hall Car Park which start this weekend
