A FUNDRAISING evening of music and fun to celebrate the first anniversary of the 'Walkers are Welcome' Cowbridge branch was a big success.

Walkers are Welcome is a nationwide initiative launched in 2007 to be 'welcoming to walkers'.

Members in around 100 towns villages assist with their communities' economic, physical, health and mental well-being through walking.

'Cowbridge Walkers are Welcome' have just celebrated their first anniversary after gaining 'Walkers are Welcome' accreditation.

A fundraisng gig was held at the Horse and Groom.

Last Saturday a fundraiser gig was held at the Horse and Groom which was a huge success with close to a 100 people supporting the event.

Two musical acts performed and was headlined by 'The Brwmys' - an alternative folk rock group which originally formed in the town 13 years ago.

The music, madcap antics and lots of crowd participation made for a memorable evening.

The funds will be used to maintain the accreditation to promote Cowbridge as a walking destination.
