Here are our top event picks for the coming days:
1. Cowbridge History Society's annual programme of talks
At long last after all the Covid restrictions, Cowbridge History Society will start its annual programme of talks on Friday, October 1st. at 7.30pm in the Lesser Hall (of Cowbridge Town Hall).
The title is 'The World Whistled Their Melodies', and Griff Harries will tell us about the history of songs from Wales, focussing mainly on South Wales composers and the songs they wrote, including Ivor Novello.
Members of the society and anyone interested in joining or attending any of the talks will be warmly welcomed (the membership cost is £7.50 for the year and can be payable at the door).
2. Vale Makers' Market
Vale Makers is a group of skilled craftspeople working in a range of media from ceramics and glass to textiles and wood, all based in the rural Vale.
Newly formed, we were just getting started when Covid hit and our activities had to be suspended, but now we are pleased to be holding our first in-person Makers Market in nearly two years.
There will be a beautiful array of products on display, perfect for gifts or treats for yourself, plus refreshments in our pop-up cafe.
We look forward to welcoming you, introducing our work and hopefully persuading you to Shop Local this Christmas.
3. Cowbridge Male Voice Choir Annual Concert 2021
Come and listen to the fabulous Cowbridge Male Voice Choir in their first major concert post-lockdown. Having appeared on ITV Good Morning Britain (twice!), ITV Wales and BBC Radio 4 during the pandemic restrictions, the choir is well rehearsed and desperate to welcome its fans back. Expect an evening filled with wonderful singing, terrific harmonies and more than a little emotion,
The choir will be joined by Cowbridge Comprehensive School's magnificent jazz band as well as their senior choir. In addition, prepare to be amazed by the virtuoso organist Scott Williams.
Truly an evening to be savoured!
