Y Bont Faen School participated throughout the February half term in the "Childrens Challenge" a distance based challenge that saw staff and pupils in a virtual race against 79 other primary schools with around 23,000 chldren taking part.
The purpose was a physical challenge to encourage teamwork and get children outside to improve wellbeing. There was an amazing uptake to the event with Y Bont Faen awarded an overall third place for pupil participation and an over all seventh out of 77 based on actual distance.
The pupils and staff managed to walk, run, cycle and scoot an amazing 3,017km in seven days!!
The challenge was one of three wellbeing events co-ordinated by the PTA, the others being a photo competition and an end of term live (via zoom) magician.
