FROM Saturday, you will be able to enjoy a meal from Oscars of Cowbridge at home as the restaurant is launching a takeaway service.

Oscars has been shut since the first lockdown because there is not enough room inside for tables to be socially distanced.

Takeaway orders can be placed from 4pm on Saturday for collection from The Bear Hotel between 6-8pm via 01446774814.

The takeaway menu offers fish and chips, burgers, chips and nachos, but this could expand depending on the success of this Saturday, Stephanie Hobrow of Town and Country Collective told Nub News.

"We've been focusing on The Bear and The Penny Farthing, and Oscars has been on the backburner. So, we thought now was our chance to launch it," she said.

"There's not really anywhere in Cowbridge offering takeaway burgers and we've had quite a few messages on social media asking to book tables and asking when we're open.

"We'll see how it goes and might add a few things on next weekend depending on reaction.

"With so many restaurants closing as of today, which is really sad, it'll be nice to fill a gap for people."

Currently the bistro-style food usually available at Oscars is available at The Bear Hotel .
