Cowbridge Comprehensive soars once more in Sunday Times Schools Guide

COWBRIDGE Comprehensive School has been ranked the third-best state secondary school in Wales by the Sunday Times, for the second year in a row.
The guide ranks schools based on the GCSE and A-Level results achieved in summer 2020.
Ranked 198th across the whole of the UK, Cowbridge Comprehensive achieved 60.2% of A-Level A*-B and 44.2% GCSE A*/A/9/8/7.
Cowbridge Comprehensive School has consistently performed well in the Sunday Times School Guide.
In 2017 and 2018, Cowbridge Comprehensive was the Welsh Regional State School of the Year, and in 2016 was ranked fourth.
This year, it was the only school in the Vale of Glamorgan to make the top ten Welsh state schools list.
In the school's last ESTYN inspection in 2019, Cowbridge Comprehensive School was ranked 'excellent' in every category.
"Strong, assured leadership, careful curriculum planning and consistently effective teaching to educate and inspire young people have been successful in securing exceptionally high levels of pupil attainment and wellbeing at Cowbridge Comprehensive School," read the report.
"Nearly all pupils display highly positive attitudes to their learning. They are enthusiastic, resourceful and independent learners.
"The proactive school council has an outstanding impact on school life playing a key role in helping pupils to develop as confident, mature citizens.
"Leadership arrangements are characterised by high levels of accountability and support, particularly through the carefully planned and highly effective programme of professional learning.
"A strong culture of evaluation and improvement is central to the school's work."
