Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen in Cowbridge has partnered with the charity music event Lamb Jam to host its first summer festival.

The festival will be held on Saturday, June 25 and raise money for Kidney Wales and Neuroendocrine Cancer UK.

Alexandra Wall, marketing manager at Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen, told Cowbridge Nub News: "It's our debut festival and we're doing it to bring the local community together and raise money for these wonderful charities.

"They're both close to our hearts for various reasons and we're trying to raise as much money and awareness as possible."

Live music from five local bands will keep guests entertained and there will be a hog roast for everyone to enjoy, using produce from the site's Penllyn Estate.

Drinks from Bridgend-based Bang-On Brewery and ciders from Gwynt Y Ddraig will also be available to buy throughout the day.

"We're all about celebrating local, so alongside our local produce and drinks, we have five local cover bands performing too, so that should bring a really nice atmosphere," said Alexandra.

There will also be a raffle with prizes including Six Nations tickets, gin tasting sessions, and a UK hotel break in a Town & Country hotel. Alexandra added: "Loads of local businesses have rallied together for this and it's just going to be such an amazing event for us to bring the community together."

Guests can take part in some games on the lawn area such as a rugby challenge and cornhole championship, as well as guess the weight of a piglet.

Should this year prove to be successful, Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen will plan on bringing Lamb Jam back as an annual celebration. "We're really passionate about giving back to the community and bringing something together for everyone local to enjoy," said Alexandra.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Children under five years old can enter for free, children under 16 will cost £8.50 per ticket and adult tickets are £15 each.

Doors will open at 15:00, with music scheduled to start at 16:00 and the festival will close at 23:00.

There will be a taxi drop off and collection point in the car park.
