A café in Aberthin near Cowbridge has applied for a premises licence as it plans to expand with a new bistro.

The application was made on May 10 to the Vale of Glamorgan's Licensing Department and has requested for opening times to be 10:00 – 22:30.

Chris Birch, the director at Birch Group which owns the café, said: "Fredwell is expanding to include a bistro and small bakery. The bistro will sell a range of local and European cuisine.

"To accompany this new menu, we will be adding a select range of local and European ciders, gins, ales, and wines.

"We are expecting to launch their bistro in June 2022."

An art exhibition by local artist, Carol Kibble, is currently displayed at the venue until the end of May.
