The owners of Fredwell Café & Pâtisserie have been awarded an alcohol and live music licence despite objections from local residents.

Chris Birch, 37, applied for the alcohol and live music licence with his partner, Jak Bjornstrom on May 10, 2022, with the view of serving alcohol from 10:00 until 22:30.

Some local residents objected to the application, claiming it would lead to further noise disruption in the area. But a committee meeting held yesterday (July 5) approved the alcohol and live music licence.

Mr Birch told Cowbridge Nub News: "I'm thrilled that we got everything that we asked for," he said.

"We can actually have live music here now too. Not rock music, but I know a harpist and people in a classic orchestral band.

"With the objection about noise, we've triple insulated the building so as long as the windows are closed, we can have as much noise inside and you won't be able to hear a thing outside.

"Hopefully, we'll soon become a new event space for Cowbridge!"
