MS Jane Hutt retains Vale of Glamorgan Senedd seat

Jane Hutt has been elected Senedd Member for the Vale of Glamorgan, retaining the seat for the fifth time.

Winning by a margin of 3,720 votes, the Welsh Labour candidate will continue to represent the constituency in the Senedd.

Ms Hutt received 18,667 votes. Conservative Matt Smith came second with 15,397 votes.

Ms Hutt has held the seat in every Senedd election since 1999. She received 43.5% of the vote, a 4.7% increase from the 2016 election, which she won by just 777 votes.

Richard Grigg - Plaid Cymru - 3,699

Michael Hancock - Reform UK - 416

Jane Hutt - Labour - 18,667

Karl-James Langford - Gwlad – The Welsh Independence Party - 174

Neill Shah - Freedom Alliance. No Lockdowns. No Curfews - 226

Anthony Slaughter - Green Party - 1,262

Matt Smith - Conservatives - 15,397

Sally Stephenson - Liberal Democrats - 994

Janet Deborah Brocklehurst - Propel - 426
