Cowbridge MP Alun Cairns has been making sure he keeps in shape for Sunday's delayed London Marathon, the 42nd running of the annual event.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the race was postponed from April until October to maximise the chances of a mass participation event.
Mr Cairns will be taking place to support two causes, Parkinson's UK and Calon Hearts, in what will be his tenth London Marathon.
The build-up to the event has been a little different for the Vale of Glamorgan MP as he has been in America, but it hasn't interrupted his training and it's taken him to a special location.
Mr Cairns told Cowbridge Nub news: "I am very excited to be running the London Marathon again, good luck to everyone running, the atmosphere will be great!
"Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far, I am really grateful. Parkinson's UK and Calon Hearts are two fantastic charities.
"While I've been away on a NATO Parliamentary Assembly trip, I've still found time to fit in some final preparations. Running across the Golden Gate Bridge and around San Francisco, has been great and it has certainly felt more hilly than the Vale!".
Donations to either of Mr Cairns' chosen charities can be made via his JustGiving pages. You can donate to Calon heart via this link or Parkinsons Uk here.
