Here are six stories you might have missed from Cowbridge this week…
Say hello to fellow walkers and pick up dog mess: the revised Countryside Code
The government has updated the Countryside Code, making changes for the first time in over a decade.
Details include advice on creating a welcoming environment, for example by saying hello to fellow visitors; clearer rules to underline the importance of clearing away dog poo; staying on footpaths; and not feeding livestock.
Plans to ease Coronavirus restrictions in Cowbridge, and the rest of Wales, by May have been announced by the Government.
As long as rates remain low, people will be allowed to bubble together from 10 May and trials for large outdoor events of between 200 and 1,000 people are also being planned with a possibility of some of those events taking place this month.
14th century belt mount discovered in Treguff is declared treasure
An item discovered in Treguff has been declared treasure.
The Assistant Coroner for South Wales Central, Mr Thomas Atherton, recently declared nine items found by metal detectorists as treasure, one of which was found in the Vale of Glamorgan village.
Barry resident Paul Gough found the medieval silver bar-mount on land in Treguff two years ago, after he got permission from the landowner through his removal job.
Petition launched to stop Vale Council supermarket development on former cattle market site
Keep Cowbridge Special, the campaign group against the plans to build a supermarket on the former cattle market site, has launched a petition against the development.
The group says the petition is designed to stop the Vale of Glamorgan Council development which "would severely damage the independent traders on Cowbridge High Street and further add to the pressures of parking in the town".
Western Vale Family Practice no longer offering eConsult service
Western Vale Family Practice is no longer offering e-consultations to patients.
The doctors surgery has reviewed its services, and decided that the eConsult programme would not support its new approach.
Physic Garden not reopening until at least late April
The Physic Garden has not been permitted to reopen following the latest Welsh Government review of Coronavirus restrictions.
Chair of the Physic Garden marketing group Martyn Hurst confirmed that the garden will remain shut until late April at least.
